Type of Award
Both small grants ($10,000
-
$50,000) and large grants ($50,001

$150,000) will be
awarded to Somali businesses from any productive sector of the economy (such as crop
agriculture and agro
-
processing, livestock, fisheries, manufacturing, business services
etc.)
that have innovative and sound business ideas to generate local employment. Grants will be
available to fund asset and/or working capital investments.
Selection and Eligibility
Criteria
Concept notes will be reviewed by the selection committee to select a short list of firms
who will be invited to submit a full business proposal. Minimum eligibility requirements
for concept note applicants include:
A business or financial inst

Proven track record in operation;
Concept

demonstrates outcomes and results linked to program’s objectives
Basis of Award
Final grant award will be made on the basis of a competitive analysis of each project’s
economic
growth and development impact, job creation, technical feasibility, financial
viability and cost effectiveness, market analysis, business management and technical
experience, and amo
unt of cost

share contribution.
Small grant requests require a minimum gr
