At least 18 civilians were killed on Thursday when a roadside bomb detonated in Lafole, Somalia blew up a minibus killing all the passengers onboard.

"All the 18 people on board the minibus are dead and burnt. A remotely controlled bomb along the road exploded," Abidkadir Mohamed, a police officer at the scene, said.Nur Ahmed witnessed the bomb detonation as he was driving along the same road told Reuters agency that the minibus was being escorted by a truck carrying government troops. The escorting vehicle escaped undamaged he said.
This explosion comes less than a week after an attack on a hotel frequented by government officials was carried out by Al shabab in Mogadishu. The attack claimed the lives of 15 people including a government minister.
Although there is no claim of responsibility, many are suspecting Al Shabab. The group frequently attacks security forces, government workers, and civilians.
