Galmudug State Government is saddened by the murder of three civilians yesterday, May 11, 2016. The three were killed after their car was ambushed near Kaxandhale inside the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia. Suspects are on the run as Galmudug State President instructed security forces to bring perpetrators to book within due course.

On April 30th, 2016, high profile delegation led by Galmudug State President arrived in Jijiga, the Headquarter of the Somali Regional State to initiate dialogue with Regional and Federal level officials on violent clashes that erupted over the border on 23rd April.
In line with the resultant agreement between the two governments of the Somali Federal Republic and Federal Republic of Ethiopia, Galmudug State has undertaken community outreach and messaging campaign as first step aimed at enforcing the agreement on its part. It also appointed its members of the joint boarder cooperation committee.
While looking forward to continued cooperation with the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia on boarder security and beyond, Galmudug State is committed to fulfilling its obligation on the recent agreement and would not tolerate acts intended to jeopardize security and stability of our two people.
