Somali Journalist dies in Mogadishu Hospital after sustaining serious Injuries from Shabab Attack in Central Somalia
Several people were killed and 15 others were wounded, among them three journalists, on Sunday after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at apopular restaurant here in Beletweine,
The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ)and the United States government issued separate statements extending condolences to the families of late Abdullahi Osman Moalim who succumbed to injuries sustained from a restaurant attack, claimed by the Shabab, in the town of Beletweinan on September 10.
"Members from NUSOJ steering committee were among people attended the burial of our colleague journalist Abdullahi Osman Moalim today” The statement added, wishing those wounded in immediate recovery.
Somali journalists in the town Beletwein in Hiiraan also extended their heartfelt condolences to the family of late Abdullahi.
Late Abdullah Osman Moalim, 24, worked for Jubbaland TV and Radio Codka Hiiraan.
"The United States extends condolences to the family of journalist Abdullahi Osman Moalim, who succumbed to injuries sustained from an al-Shabaab terrorist attack on September 10 in Beledweyne.” United States Mission to Somalia said in a statement, "The United States condemns al-Shabaab and its indiscriminate attacks on the Somali people. We salute and encourage Somali journalists to continue their work despite the daily struggles and risks, in defense of the inalienable right of freedom of expression on behalf of the Somali people.”’
Somalia Journalists work in a very dangerous environment where they become soft targets for those willing to silence the voice of the voiceless.

Somali Journalist, who was recently wounded at a restaurant attack in the town of Beletweine, died in Mogadishu hospital on Wednesday, NUSOJ said in a press statement.
