Celebrating Somali Women in business - Meet Hibaq Noor Salad a mobile repair technician from Adaado

"Was inspired to start my business and learn these skills becauseIdidn't know any woman in this sector..." Hibaq was selected to train as a mobile repair technician through a programme managed by Mercy Corps and supported by the Somalia Stability Fund. 52 Young men and women were trained on various vocational skills that were in high demand in in Galmudug state.

Community policing and improved policecapacity increases community trust andengagement in Puntland

In 2018 CaptainMohamud Mohamed Abdirahman was called up to lead the Nugaal Community Police Programme. Like many of his Colleagues, this was his firstexperience of using a community policing approach. The programme is being implemented across Puntland by the Office of Puntland Human rights Defenders, (OPHRD), to address communitydistrust in local police, community insecurity and to prevent human rights violation at police stations.
