2016 in Hobyo town. This was followed by an appointment of representative district interim administration, a first of its kind since the collapse of the central government in 1991. The new district administration will among other things oversea security and public service delivery in Hobyo for a period of three months in which time residents will elect their district administration. Travelling on road for a distance of about 300km, Galmudug State president accompanied by some members of the cabinet and parliament left from Adado to Hobyo for the above purpose on 5th February, 2016.

To replace the outgoing administration in Galkacyo whose tenure has come to an end on 31st January 2016, a 27 council member was voted to elect city mayor on 7th February. Similar undertakings are due in Caabudwaaq and Balanballe where preparations are underway for district council elections. In Adado, the Galmudug Chambers of Commerce has been formed on 3rd February 2016 and to give the chambers legitimately representative face, entrepreneurs and business leaders were invited from all regions in Galmudug; the event was presided over by the Ministry of Commerce and Industries.
In parallel to the above, Galmudug Sate continues transforming clan militias into representative institutional security apparatus capable of protecting lives and properties of the Somali people in Galmudug. Presently, our forces are fully charged with the provision of security and our people are grateful for the determination and sacrifices of their sons and daughters in uniform who take no chances in preempting terrorist schemes.
The recent travel on road by Galmudug State president and members of both cabinet and parliament is a clear demonstration of the relative peace Galmudug enjoys. It further reinforces the commitment of the government in fulfilling its pledge.
