ARMY RESERVISTS IN UGANDA Army Reservists from Yorkshire have been spending the run up to Christmas working in the equatorial heat and humidity of Uganda. But the team of around 30 soldiers weren't there to relax, they spent 11 tough days in East Africa training the Ugandan People's Defence Force (UPDF) in the skills they will need if they are called upon to run future peacekeeping operations. The 4 YORKS team helped to school the 1,900 strong Battlegroup in a range of counter-insurgency techniques before setting the soldiers their final exam – an intensive, three day exercise designed to test the Ugandans' new skills to the limit NOTE TO DESKS: MoD release authorised handout images.
