At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for his visit and expressed his deep gratitude for the continuous support and efforts exerted to develop cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Somalia, praising the strong relations between the two countries.

For his part, the Ambassador affirmed Qatar’s ties with the Republic of Somalia in the fields of agriculture and livestock. He also reviewed the investment opportunities available in the agricultural and livestock sectors in the Republic of Somalia and ways to strengthen them and push them forward to further progress.

The Ambassador praised the success of Widam Food Company and the investment role it plays despite the current economic challenges facing the region.

Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Khayarain, CEO of Widam Food Company said that Widam plans to enter new markets in order to study for importing various types of food item for the local market.
